Who we are
Bengal Property Index (bengalpropertyindex.in) publishes property price data, guides and calculators for West Bengal. It is an initiative by Konko Maji. In this policy, “we” means Bengal Property Index.

What we collect and why
When you use the contact form
We collect your name, email address, the page you are writing about (if you add it) and your message. We use them only to reply to you. The message is emailed to our inbox and a copy is kept in our website admin, so it is not lost if the email fails. We delete messages within 24 months of the last reply.
When you use a calculator
Our calculators work out results on our server from the numbers you type. The numbers are part of the page address (for example ?a=6850000&area=urban), so you can share a result as a link. We do not save the numbers anywhere, but, like any web address, they appear in our hosting provider’s standard server logs.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, set up through Google Site Kit, to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records pages viewed, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and how you arrived. It does not give us your name or email address.
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used, through heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement. Clarity hides text you type into forms by default. Microsoft’s privacy statement is at privacy.microsoft.com.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which also delivers it through its content delivery network and caches pages with LiteSpeed Cache. Like every web host, Hostinger keeps short-term server logs of IP addresses, browser types and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Things we do not do
- We do not run user accounts, comments or payments.
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We do not load fonts or scripts from Google Fonts: our fonts are served from our own site.
- We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Where data goes
Google and Microsoft may process data on servers outside India. Our hosting provider stores the site and its logs. We share personal data with no one else, except where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also withdraw consent and raise a grievance with us. If you are in the EU or UK, you have similar rights under the GDPR. Email bengalpropertyindex@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response under the DPDP Act, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site or the services it uses change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
